Dr. Humphreys chairs the Medical Advisory Board at 3Spine, guiding technology development. He attended the University Notre Dame and completed medical school at Loyola University in Chicago. Dr. Humphreys is the founder of Kenai Spine in Alaska. He also founded the Carolyn Jane Foundation, which provides advanced spine training to surgeons in Africa. His CURE plate portfolio was just purchased by SpineArt through Meditech, with all proceeds funding the clinic in Africa.

​Through a long career as a spine surgeon, Dr. Humphreys was also involved in spinal research and has contributed to more than 70 publications. In 2010, Dr. Humphreys moved back to Alaska to found Kenai Spine, a specialized spine practice focused on the treatment of back pain and neck pain, serving a large region of Alaska. Dr. Humphreys is licensed to practice in the Cayman Islands, and also performs mission surgery in Africa through CURE.​

Dr. Humphreys’ practice philosophy is to explore and exhaust all non-surgical options in advance of the patient considering spine surgery. This includes the use of spine-specialized therapy and injections that can relieve pain symptoms.
